The Altman Program accepts applications from prospective students who have already been admitted to Tulane. The ideal Altman Scholar is well-rounded and demonstrates leadership potential and a global perspective.

Students who have a desire to focus on the interconnectedness of Business and the Liberal Arts, while being immersed in a non-English language and various cultures, should consider applying to this program. While acceptance will be contingent on a variety of factors, preference will be given to those candidates who possess the following qualifications:

  • Demonstration of strong academic ability necessary to succeed in a rigorous dual-degree program;
  • Interest in both Business and Liberal Arts disciplines, and the connection between the two;
  • Tulane-approved Advanced Placement credits for 3-4 courses, which will help facilitate completion of the BA and BSM degrees in four years; and
  • Previous exposure to one of the Altman target non-English languages (current language options are Chinese/Mandarin, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, and Spanish.)
