Biography

Motivated to enact positive change, Ayanna Hill, a North Texas native, is a fourth-year undergraduate student pursuing a dual bachelor's degree in political science with a concentration in international relations and management.

Through her passion for public service and international affairs, Ayanna has completed service projects and study abroad programs across the Dominican Republic, Colombia, and Spain with the help of the Altman Program.

In the future, Ayanna hopes to pursue a career in international affairs, focusing on establishing local entrepreneurship and bolstering socioeconomic reform.

United States for International Development (USAID): Virtual Student Federal Service Intern  (September 2023 – May 2024) 
- Identified research questions and drafted a concept note for a nine-month-long project.
- Conducted intensive research from a wide range of academic journals, books, and agency resources. 
- Interviewed diverse stakeholders from within the agency across North and Central America.  
- Prepared a final deliverable to present to representatives across the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

Public Policy and International Affairs Program (PPIA): Fellow – Seattle, WA (June 2024 – August 2024) 
- Selected from a pool of over 1,000 applicants to participate in four rigorous public policy courses and seminars. 
- Connected with various public and private industry leaders across the Seattle metro area. 
- Presented a research-intensive deliverable and presentation to stakeholders.

International High School of New Orleans: Development Intern (January 2023 – May 2023) 
- Created content for weekly output on all communication platforms. 
- Interacted with over 350+ people throughout the school to cultivate a brand used in social media, grant proposals, and fundraising opportunities. 
- Assisted in the development of a public relations campaign that expanded across the nation to improve institutional acceptance rates.

The Network: Co-Program Manager – New Orleans, LA (April 2022 – March 2024) 
- Planned events for attendees with Tulane University Diplomat in Residence and co-program manager. 
- Contacted various industry-leading International Affairs professionals for virtual events. 
- Maintained relationships with speakers and attendees for each program.

Youth Int. Leadership Initiative: Events Officer – Remote (April 2022 – September 2022) 
- Planned and managed organization service and educational-based events for all organization fellows. 
- Contacted organization partners at various non-profits and schools. 
- Connected over 30 professionals across the international affairs community with fellows.
