Biography

Abbey Hochreiner is a fourth-year undergraduate student pursuing a dual degree in Finance and Economics. Her interdisciplinary studies and experiences in Spain and Mexico have deepened her interest in analyzing the impact of global financial markets and economic policies on the communities they serve. Abbey is passionate about cross-cultural collaboration and thrives in environments where diverse perspectives come together to solve complex problems.

J.P. MORGAN: Markets Summer Analyst – Equity Research – New York City, NY (June 2024 – August 2024) 
• Contributed to a 3-person team focused on Healthcare Technology & Distribution by constructing research notes, dissecting earnings releases and regulatory filings, and connecting with clients and management teams  
• Pitched stock to senior management with initiation report on financial projections, valuation techniques, industry dynamics, company-specific factors, acquisitions, and risks

MAGNETAR CAPITAL: Alternative Credit & Fixed Income Summer Analyst – Evanston, IL (June 2023 – August 2023) 
• Executed fundamental credit modeling and analysis, forecasting credit default probability and pro-forma liquidity  
• Constructed research report with investment recommendation for alternative asset (music royalties) using discounted cash flow and comparable analysis  
• Pitched real estate investment to senior management, evaluating investor IRR, financial sensitivity, exit capitalization rate, and market capture rate

• Selected to participate in nationally recognized research program as a member of a 5-person team to comprehensively research small-cap stocks headquartered in the Gulf South 
• Produce 14 deliverables with reports on financial modeling, valuation techniques, peer comparisons, and 12-month target price projections on Sunnova Energy International Inc (NOVA)

Future Plans

After graduation, Abbey Hochreiner will begin her role as an Equity Research Analyst at J.P. Morgan in New York City.
